Ubisoft has been known to pump out large-scale, single-player experiences, but a change in the pattern may be closer than previously expected. The model would place a higher value on microtransactions, DLC, and other expansions - as opposed to the traditional AAA pricing model as seen in Far Cry 6. However, the company has previously revealed its interest in engaging with the free-to-play market, with Ubisoft creating a games-as-a-service model that has been essentially absent from its product lineup. Ubisoft’s latest title is a paid AAA experience with the inclusion of expansion packs and DLC. ![]() Early Far Cry 6 reviews pegged the game as a familiar island adventure akin to other installments in the Far Cry franchise and while the introduction of powerful makeshift weapons and animal companions adds new elements to the experience, the game itself is said to be an iterative and engaging installment.
